By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently teach a modified Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class suitable for all levels and offer modifications for students with injuries or physical limitations.
The daily course outline consists of morning yoga and meditation practice, theoretical modules afternoon practice, and group teaching.
Theoretical modules include:
- Yoga Philosophy
- History of Indian Yogic Culture
You will follow a very practical hands-on approach, learning the art of adjustments, key pose alignments, the use of basic yoga props, and how to approach yoga as a business. We explore ethical topics such as yoga etiquette, as well as the practical elements of teaching such as marketing, pricing and time management.
A pivotal component of our course is the physical practice of different styles of yoga. Students will practice the Ashtanga Primary series as well as Vinyasa, Yin, and Power/Rocket yoga, gaining an appreciation for the many different forms of yoga in the modern world.
By day 10, you will be ready and prepared to start a self-practice. This way of practicing is called Mysore style and can be considered as the heart of yoga. During that class, the teacher will work on a one on one basis, providing you with personalized feedback and guidance to improve your practice and go deeper into the body.
Upon graduating, students will be able to draw from their own experience of this wide variety of yoga styles to create and enhance their own sequences, incorporating elements of Ashtanga and Vinyasa asana combined with pranayama and yoga philosophy.
Meet the trainers
Humble, genuine and warm, Christian is inspired by his experience in a variety of styles of yoga. Born and raised in Brazil and initially trained in Ashtanga & Rocket Vinyasa Yoga, Christian found inspiration in the slower and intuitive style of Forrest Yoga. Christian is inspired to nurture an environment where students feel safe to go deeper, journey inwards and have fun! To him, teacher trainings are a golden opportunity to empower students to let go of what limits them and connect with their best selves.
